Science fiction is my thing too, so I wondered what would make the list. Interesting choices -- although not all what I'd recommend if ask for 20 change-your-life titles . . . so I'm off to make my own. I will say right away that I'm okay until I get down to LeGuin and The Dispossessed. I'd replace that with The Left Hand of Darkness for sure. Then for Varley, without even thinking I'd say the short story collection Persistence of Vision, or the Barbie Murders.
