Holy Cats, I think it looks quite excellent! Lots to love there, I think, and for those of you who don't mind some spoilers, here's an interview with the director that's a lot of fun, too.

I probably owe comments to a lot of folks and am very glad I will have time to play catch-up over the holidays. Four more days and then I'm off for a couple of weeks! Yay!!

Oh, and I swear that part where's he's on the bed with Penelope Cruz and then tries to leave her in the room and she yells at him -- that so reminds me of a scene out of a fic, like him trying to leave Harry behind on an adventure or something.

I get a very positive chemistry vibe from these scenes in the trailer, and the action scenes look to be a lot of fun.

I've watched it about ten times so far, and we are going to see Tron on Friday so we can see it on the big screen. Yay, Pirates!!

It looks definitely great! I'm so excited and although it doesn't have that EPIC feeling that the AWE trailer had, I still love this trailer. Seems they're really going back to the roots - it has that CotBP feeling for me. :)

And now to ponder what we can see there, where the scenes belong. Love Teague's line "The Fountain will test you." and then later seeing Jack in a swordfight with himself (I'm pretty sure he's fighting against himself there) - I could imagine that this is the (a?) test of the FoY. Intriguing.

Like the dynamic between Depp and Cruz, it seems to work, although I don't care much for Cruz. *g* As long as they don't gi down the One True Love road I'm quite fine with it. And there seems to be a romance between the young guy (Philipp, is it?) and the caught (?) mermaid.

I don't think that's an issue in question. What I'm worried about is a lack of romance in the movie, or at least romance untainted by the kind of cynicism that crept into DMC and AWE. If it hadn't been for CotBP's unabashed optimism under its piratey skin, I don't think its sequels would have been nearly as popular.

Yeah, I see what you mean. But at least in the trailer it didn't look like it was all DOOMED, so I think they're really going back to how the first movie felt. And Bruckheimer already said that this is his most romantic film to date. Whatever that means when he says it. *g*

Wheee!!! I've just believed at last, that there is a woman able to turn Jack's head. Really turn. Even if not permanently. And she would teach Scarlett & Giselle something in matter of, ahem, treating Jack. What a temperament. *g* It's only trailer, and the screen blazes already. The chemistry between Jack and Angelica doesn't bother me, they're not going to make it an on-going romance. What I fear is 1) that they'll make it overly cynical, and 2) that there won't be any mention of the relationships established in the previous three movies, or that they'll be touched upon in a frivolous or even negative light.

But yay Teague! And Gibbs, too, and filming in London, I love that already!

It's really nice to see Barbossa again (hey, maybe I could ship him and a mermaid *g*), as well as Gibbs. The scenery and the ships are pretty, too, and Ian McShane is sure to be fun to watch!
