Oh dear God, could Johnny Depp really make us love him any more than we already do?! After his Captain Jack Sparrow primary school visit, barely ten days ago, we didn't think it was possible. Only now he's gone and done something just as kind-hearted...

With the British weather taking a turn for the worse this last week, the cast and crew currently working on the Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in Greenwich have been gnashing their teeth against the cold and the rain.

On seeing their plight, 47-year-old Johnny Depp apparently dipped his hand into his own pocket and coughed up £40,000 on new coats to keep everyone warm and dry whilst they were at work. The actor reportedly bought 500 waterproof jackets, priced at £80 each, when the cold snap struck.

"Johnny paid out of his own pocket for all 500 of us to have a nice warm waterproof," an insider told The Sun, "It's a great morale boost and another example of why he is one of the nicest people in Hollywood."

One of the nicest men in Hollywood? Why yes, he is. *sigh* Just what has he got up his piratey sleeve next though? If it involves saving puppies and kittens then that's it, we'll be at the front of the queue banging down his door...

And Keith Richards is confirmed to be reprising his role as Teague.

That is so awesome! Too bad this story didn't make big headlines, like Charlie Sheen's biannual violent alike binge.

Sadly, if I had been there Johnny would not have bought me a warm waterproof. He would have figured that since I had brought six with me and bought two more on the day of arrival, that giving me one more would only serve to feed my unhealthy coat compulsion. :)
