J/E vs. W/E

With the third movie of the pirates trilogy still five months away, the debate over who should end up with Elizabeth has gotten so crazy they've even closed down some of the threads regarding same on Keep to the Code (or so I've heard -- I rarely go there as it makes me crazy). Enter blondeheroine  with a lucid, step-by-step analysis of why Jack and Elizabeth belong together.

It's not that I don't love Will. It's just that, like blondeheroine , I saw the essential compatibility of J/E from my first viewing of Curse of the Black Pearl. And apparently Ted and Terry saw it, too, planned it that way, actually. It's a Disney show, and there are a lot of chefs in the kitchen, so whether AWE ends up that way or not is a moot point, really. It's just good to know we were right.

Thanks for the link. I still don't see J/E, but I will agree that if there's one thing I agree with more strongly as time goes on, it's that Will does not belong with Elizabeth.

I personally don't get it. Seems they've just shoved Jack/Elizabeth down our throats in DMC. And if she doesn't end up with Will, he turns pirate and I lay odds, takes over for Davy Jones. Pirate yes. Bitter, no.

Yes, there are similarities between Jack and Lizzie, but in CotBP, I saw it as a wee bit more of disgust instead of longing. But not in DMC. She chose Will in CotBP--not Jack, not Norrington. So to me, DMC is a 180.

But that's me. ;) In a perfect world it would be J/W/E sailing off into the sunset as a threesome. But then again, I don't work for the mouse. LOL

It'll really surprise me if AWE turns out that way, in spite of the logic of the set up. But yes, we'll always have fanfiction, which is a wonderful thing in itself. Thanks for unlocking that so it could be shared. :)

I can totally see how they'd work that (Will and Elizabeth married, and sailing off with Jack as they can't very well go back to Port Royal) and it's actually what I'm hoping for. What I don't want to see is Will going off as the new Davy Jones.
