1. [livejournal.com profile] thepodsquad has posted a GREAT PicSpam with commentary over at [livejournal.com profile] sparrabeth. I don't know how she processed the screencaps, but they are gorgeous, and her commentary is hilarious.

2. [livejournal.com profile] erinrua, Captain of
Black Pearl Sails, built a great PotC website, Captain Erin's Fanfiction and Nautical Notes shortly after CotBP came out, and its fanfiction recs page in particular has been a great introduction and resource for many Pirates fans. Recently her old server bit the dust, so now her site is hosted on Black Pearl Tales, the archive site for Black Pearl Sails and Black Pearl Library. There is a link off the Black Pearl Tales home page, and best of all: NO ADS!!

3. I can't say enough good things about [livejournal.com profile] artaxastra's PotC American Revolution series. That link goes to her latest chapter, Approaching Thunder, and has links to all the previous chapters. The writing is some of the best I've encountered anywhere, and the whole scenario, which lays out a future in which Jack, Elizabeth and Will achieve both high adventure and a mostly blissful "Piratical Domesticity", hits so many buttons for me I find myself squeeing over every line. If only U.S. history had been this interesting in high school!

4. Games! Check out LineRider (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] schmoo999 for the link) and Catch 33, which niece [livejournal.com profile] gingersnapps showed me. Fun stuff, if you have a few minutes for mindless fun.

With the third movie of the pirates trilogy still five months away, the debate over who should end up with Elizabeth has gotten so crazy they've even closed down some of the threads regarding same on Keep to the Code (or so I've heard -- I rarely go there as it makes me crazy). Enter [personal profile] blondeheroine  with a lucid, step-by-step analysis of why Jack and Elizabeth belong together.

It's not that I don't love Will. It's just that, like [personal profile] blondeheroine , I saw the essential compatibility of J/E from my first viewing of Curse of the Black Pearl. And apparently Ted and Terry saw it, too, planned it that way, actually. It's a Disney show, and there are a lot of chefs in the kitchen, so whether AWE ends up that way or not is a moot point, really. It's just good to know we were right.
