Drabble... er... thirteen!

Everybody's getting in on the drabble series Miz pearlseed began, and luvvycat suggested I do the same. Birthday girl mamazano kindly posted links to the first ten drabbles, veronica_rich wrote number eleven, and here's my entry -- exactly 100 words -- to make (so far) an even dozen**...



~ Commandeered ~

Ana's heart, blood, breath, world stopped in that moment. She was so close to Jack's lips she could see only him, feel his rum-sweet breath against her cheek. In her mind's eye, she leaned just a trinketed lock closer, melding burning lips to his and from that point, consummation, swift, thorough, passionate consummation of her deep, abiding, oh so wicked and completely undeniable lust would surely ignite.

She was singularly stunned on waking to find him gone, requited yet unassuaged fires now roiling with fury at the realization that he'd commandeered her (damned Pirate!), body and soul and Jolly Mon.




** ETA: lolitalockhart posted links to hers, which she says are numbers nine and twelve, on potc100 right after I posted this, so I've changed mine to number thirteen. Poor Anamaria. No luck at all.

Hey! Glad to see you join the party! (WHEEEE!!!) The more, the merrier (and thank you for giving me partial blame credit for drawing you into this wonderful many-headed Hydra of a drabble series that Pearlseed has spawned! Of course, the Hydra had only nine heads, and we're well beyond that now ...) ;-)

Great entry! I can totally see it happening like that ... poor Ana, so susceptible to Jack's wicked charms! (But, then, aren't we all? *sigh*) ;-)

It will be interesting to see just how far this series can go! I'm sure Miz Pearlseed never could have imagined herself in the role of PotC drabble "muse"! ;-)

Actually, counting lolita's two, I believe we're presently at 14 (I renamed my Number 6 as "Number 6a" when danglingdingle's Number 6 snuck in under the wire just ahead of mine ...)

Naw ... sleep's just a waste of time, and futile at this point (I'd have to get up in about 45 mins anyway. One of my cats has an early morning vet appointment today.) Besides, this is the first chance I've had to catch up on posting thank-yous to all my lovely Commenters! I've been feeling like quite the slacker, not having done that yet ... ;-)

But I suppose you're sensible, and have toddled off to bed already. I guess you'll read this in the morning...

Poor Ana, she did get rather taken by Jack, didn't she? At least he admitted he deserved those slaps the next time they met!

I have posted number 14 (I think! LOL) in the series, and tried to link back to all the others. I am afraid I have yours and cupcake's reversed, but I am too exhausted to go back and change it. :)

I did toddle off to bed (or to sleep -- I use this laptop in bed, very luxurious), but am awake now and saw that lolitalockhart posted links to her two on potc100 and is calling hers nine and twelve, so I've renamed this one thirteen.

I hope your kitty is OK and that the vet trip went well.

Me too. I understand why they dropped the character- it would've changed the dynamics if Liz hadn't been the only woman aboard in DMC. But I wish they'd at least included a line to indicate what happened to Ana (I like to think she made Jack make good on his promise, and is now sailing the seas on a much more better ship.)

Hah! Superb! Excellent entry to this drabble series! Follows Pearlseed's established format, and perfectly captures that moment at the end of AWE, too! (I mean, if we're doing pairings, how could we leave out Jack/Pearl?)

And Pearlseed is bound to be tickled pink. Jack/Pearl is her all-time favourite PotC 'ship!

Since I'm such a sparrabether, I was kind of leery about reading a J/A drabble, but I'm so glad I did! I love this little template everyone is using and finding as many uses for it as possible. It's fun to see Jack can also use his, er, masculine wiles just as mercilessly as Elizabeth can. Poor Anamaria. She never catches a break, didn't even get to be in the sequels. In her defense, Jack most definitely deserved the slap she gave him!

"requited yet unassuaged fires now roiling with fury" Now that is a pluperfect picture of Hell Having whatever it was that Jack totally butchered in the re-stating of, I think...

There used to be a LOT of Anamaria/Jack written, and I do enjoy revisiting those days. Yes, apparently he did deserve her wrath, and hopefully she got her own ship after Curse of the Black Pearl. Would've been nice to see her in the sequels, though.

Hee! I have always liked to think that Ana was very properly and thoroughly compensated for the hardship Jack caused her, especially before he borrowed the Jolly Mon... Not to mention afterwards, since I doubt (when I can get my head out of my own J/W-inclined arse) that the Interceptor was the only one to go up in some colourful fireworks ;)

This plays nicely into my own figments of imagination :) Thanks for the read!
