PotC4: Teaser Poster and Filming at Knole House

They were filming PotC4 at Knole House in Sevenoaks, which has also seen the likes of The Beatles (Strawberry Fields Forever) and Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes) -- slightly spoilery pics of the props and interesting article.

I really like that teaser poster. The details are again lovely and it made me think about why they use iron (or steal or silver, whatever) as the skull. Hmmm. In the book iron plays an important part in the story. So, depending on how much they take from the novel it could be a clue to that. Or it's really steampunk now. :D

I saw this poster at the theater where I saw HP 7 for the second time... and I geeked out a LOT. I'm considering going to see Tron the night it opens because a.) Tron is AWESOME, and b.) That's when I heard the first PotC trailer is going to be played. *sigh* I have it BAD for this franchise.

I've read about 2/3 of the book (it seems to bog down in the middle with too lengthy special effects scenes) and it doesn't seem like they're taking much from the novel other than the title, at least from the hints we've been given from stills and videos from the set. It'll be interesting to see how the story turns out.

I am anxious to see the trailer, too, it'll be online on the 13th at Yahoo, but there's nothing like that big screen, and Tron might be fun to see besides. I too saw the poster at the theater when we went to see HP7 last Saturday, and was one with you on the geeking out.

Hm, I didn't think that of the book, I rather needed a bit to really get into it at first (but it's always like that when I read an English book). They're at least taking Blackbeard and the FoY, but other than that... well, there aren't many hints. And I think that's good, if the parallels to the book are minimal. Otherwise they could've just said, "We're making a movie out of that book, just replace the main character with Jack Sparrow." (Which wouldn't work at all.)

So it's still thrilling and surprising! :) Can't wait for the trailer (I'll see it online first, because I can't be sure about them showing it before Tron Legacy over here).
