It looks like so much fun! I am so excited for this movie, I love Jack and Penelope together, they look so beautiful together! And I love Barbossa's tea set and his new clothes, and I love the mermaids too, I'm glad they are not like... zombie or fish mermaids.

I think it'll be fun watching Jack and his old flame, what we've heard of their relationship is very intriguing. And yay mermaids! Though I'm not sure they're really nice ones. The zombies I could do without, but they are very popular right now, and they do feature in that book.

also, if you look at the second "gold" tooth on the right side of the skeleton poster, he has a pearl embedded in the tooth. Pretty neato.

Whimper, this one won't play for me (I'm such a troglodyte I've not a clue how to fix that) but all the others have. I'm again excited rather than wary and that's a good sign!

This one looks not only to be fun, but character-driven and full of clever plot turns--like the first film.

Thanks so much for posting all these to your page so we can find them so conveniently!

That is. I wonder if there is a story behind that?

That one stopped working for some reason, it wasn't you. Try it now, I found it on YouTube.

It will be fun, if only because we get more of Jack.

I don't think it was the characters, or clever plot twists that were lacking in the sequels so much as an underlying nihilism that really ruined what we'd loved about the first film. The first one seemed to be about hope, perseverance, and the way love and friendship can overcome obstacles. The filmmakers didn't seem to understand that that's what really resonated with audiences and brought them flocking to the sequels.

Although I could be wrong. Maybe it's all about the special effects. 0.o

The more I see of Ian McShane's Blackbeard, the more I love him. Though he's going to have to be pretty evil to top Beckett... ;-)

As usual, thanks for posting this!

You're welcome. I do love the crazed look in McShane's eyes. I'm interested to know what's happened to Barbossa, too, and why.

Hmm, I think you've hit the nail on the head! The other complaints were valid as well as the sheer insanity of suddenly dragging in Chinese pirates and cannibals to fill screen time when there were already so many plot points to resolve...but they all become secondary to the meanness of spirit and selfishness ALL the characters displayed in the sequels.

Hopefully--and so far looks like it--Jack (and his small handful of returnees) is BACK! YAY!
