penknife and artaxastra are on a roll, and I cannot but squee in fangirlish glee at the excellence of their piratey offerings. Don't miss Tea, the next installment of artaxastra's great new multi-part story set at the beginning of the American Revolution (the first three parts, which I rec'd the other day, are At the Sign of the Green Dragon, Teach's Hole, and Den of Iniquity). And then, for a surfeit of riches, catch penknife's latest, Proper Pirates which is wonderful in so many ways -- dark, anxious adventure, snark between Jack & James, J/E romance, plot-driven smut, perfect characterizations throughout -- that I really can't get enough of it.

Lastly, if you are familiar with the Firefly/Serenity universe, my dear friend hereswith has written Moths to the Flame, another in her series of wonderful stories about River and Mal. Beautifully poetic, and very real.

Thanks for the rec, dear! And it's a wonderful compliment that it feels real :-) Just figured out what's going to happen in the next one, and I've a sort of outline for the rest of it, as well. So I should start writing, I suppose...
