Drabble: "Sharp"

Wow, it's been a while since I posted any fic. Here's a drabble for the 'Eye' challenge, which was actually last week's at Black Pearl Sails.



~ Sharp ~

"Keep a sharp eye!"

A sharp eye?! Will stared after Sparrow, who swayed away to where the swinish newcomer, Joshamee Gibbs, was seated. The man seemed oddly familiar, but Will didn't trust him or Sparrow an inch.

Nor any of this company, for that matter. Raucous. Ill bred. Violent. Not a decent soul amongst them.

Sparrow and Gibbs hunched over their tankards, intent on mischief, while vice roiled around them.

The Faithful Bride. Someone's idea of a jest?

He'd have to have a dozen sharp eyes! A hundred!

Well, he'd a sharp sword. That would have to suffice.

Bloody pirates.

Poor Will would need to be Argus-eyed to catch all the threatening vices in that den of iniquity! :D I like his decision to depend on his sharp sword instead. That really sums up Will's gut reaction. Fight first. Look later. Poor dear William. And great drabble.

Very happy you enjoyed the drabble. Den of iniquity, indeed. Will might be hot-at-hand, but he has reason, doesn't he? And there is a distressing lack of communication that exacerbates the problem.

Good drabble; I wondered why we haven't received many fics from you recently.
Alas poor Will; with those two and Barbossa, he's a bit over his head.
Lucky he learned a few more tricks for the second movie.

I have three different stories outlined to write, two specifically for secret santa things, so I'll be doing some writing in the next two weeks. But it's not as easy to find the time on the weekends, lately. I do best in the mornings, and we've been so busy lately.

I'm glad you enjoyed this -- I like Will, and his character was even more interesting in DMC. If Jack just wasn't so distracting...

Such a perfect Will! He is rather the middle ground between Jack and Norrington- upright and moral yet alive with adventure of the same time.

I haven't either. Of course, in the movie he gives no indication that he remembers Gibbs from when he was rescued as a boy, but the scene may just have been (one of the many that were) left out of the movie.

There was no indication that he remembered Gibbs particularly, and you'd think there would have been. This needs to be addressed more extensively in fanfiction, I think.
