Drabble: 'Apologies'
A hundred words exactly for the drabble challenge for this week at Black Pearl Sails. The theme is...
~ Apologies ~
I'm not sorry.
Had she ever spoken words less true?
A volatile mix of fear, anger, lust, and bloody-minded determination, had spurred her on. They would not be killed for Jack's bargain with the Devil, not if she could help it. And help it she had, in a scene of seduction and betrayal worthy of the Theatre Royal.
Actress.
Pirate.
But Liar hit the mark.
Tia Dalma said there was a way, and Elizabeth would spend herself in journeying to the ends of the earth to make it right.
And for that, in truth, she would not be sorry.

I think drabbles are my favourite form of fanfic. We get to see in the heads of the characters for just a brief moment. You have brilliantly conveyed Elizabeth's thoughts and feeling in just a few words. We know exactly what she is thinking about and how she feels about her actions.
I love it. Very melancholy. :)

Exactly. As little overt J/E as we got in AWE, there are an awful lot of subtle hints.

You've just proven you've still got the drabble-ness in you :)

A relief to know -- I was wondering, as I haven't been immediately inspired by the themes, lately. I'll have to go back through and see if I can do some make up ones tonight, while the Drabble Muse seems to be speaking. *G*

Exactly, and that shared dichotomy is what makes J/E interesting.
Wonderful drabble!

True, but it wasn't completely an act was it?
But Liar hit the mark.
Exactly!
Nice drabble!
