weemonkey6 and I had a lovely morning at a Preview Day for CSUN -- the campus certainly looks good, 13 years post-earthquake. I will soon be a CSUN Mom, as well as a UCSB Mom! :)

Some recs that must be made...

fid_gin wrote the short but very savory Unconventional, W/E, J/E, PG-13.

the_dala posted the second chapter of her FANTASTIC A/U, formerly called Blood Ties, now entitled Other Side of the World featuring Teague, Gov. Swann, Jack, Elizabeth, Will, etc. Can't really say enough good things about this. the_dala, young as she is, is one of the best writers in the PotC fandom and has consistently impressed me with her work since I ran across it in early '04. With this new story, she just proves she's getting better with age. What is she now? 21 or something?

penknife pointed out Free Rice, and it's certainly a brilliant way to kill a few educational and charitable minutes. I only got to 49, and that briefly.

Just ran across keira_daily, and this picture (among others) of Keira Knightly filming Duchess, a new movie based on Amanda Forman's book, Georgiana. *is ecstatic*

the_dala amazes me. If you haven't read all her stuff, you really should. She's a natural. If she's this good a writer as young as she is now, what is she going to do in the future? The mind boggles!
