Three drabbles, exactly 100 words each, written for the current challenge at Black Pearl Sails. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] bizarra  for the quick beta!

~ Name Your Terms ~

Jack - CotBP

"Name your terms, Mr. Turner."

Elizabeth goes free! and The crew are not to be harmed. Bloody hell. Did the whelp have no imagination at all?

And he'd completely ignored Jack's subtle pantomime. Had he not seen, or was this the same malice that had inspired that oar-to-the-head trick?

An internal whisper (doubtless a lingering effect of that same oar-to-the-head trick) suggested that it was just possible the situation would have benefited from a more liberal exchange of information on Jack's part.

Possible. But not probable.

Difficult not to succumb to self-doubt, however, when one's spine shivered at Barbossa's Agreed!

Elizabeth - DMC

"As I said: persuade me."

At sword's point? Or by… other means. Elizabeth 's objections caught in her throat at the wicked look Jack was giving her, suggestive of precisely what other means might prove efficacious. Unable to speak, she lifted her chin and stomped away, retreating down the deck to cool her cheeks out of range of his knowing gaze.

Those other means chased after her, though, dancing through her, outrageous, sly, and teasing as Jack himself.  A giggle welled up, and though she did not permit herself such an indignity, she could not help but smile.

Bloody pirate!

Will - Post-AWE

"I won't let you do it!"

"You've your family to think about, Will. You've done your ten years. They'll be waiting for you."

Will said bitterly, "It won't be ten years for you. Mother's gone."

"She is, bless her soul. She was a good woman. I've no regrets: she gave me you. But she wasn't my first love, nor my last. It's all arranged – and this one's always had my heart."

Will stiffened. "Arranged? Did Jack have something to do with this?"

Bootstrap just smiled. "Jack put a word in, aye. He's had Calypso's ear for a good long time."

Wow, neither wind, nor fire, nor ash, nor storm will stop geekmama from her appointed drabbles! Sturdy lass!

Love the first: Jack and his ramblings, bless his heart. No one ever seems to listen to him. Had a mental flash of the 'pantomime'. Good way to start the morning.

And just how much persuading==setting terms--would Lizzie need at that point? The girl would be better off to realize she was in the face of a master on that territory.

Incredible twist in the last! Surprise! I'm beginning to see more and more evidence of the 'terms' between Jack and Calypso. The mind does reel on those negoiations.

A pleasant surprise on this mundane Monday. Adroit as always! (Gotta stop, haven't found my glasses yet and there has been no coffee.)

This was a real treat! :)

I loved all three of them, especially number two. I've loved that scene ever since I realised that Jack was suggesting Elizabeth show him how she could handle his 'sword'! It took me a while to pick up on the double entendre... I guess I am too sweet and innocent. ;) Or perhaps its just that I wasn't expecting such naughtiness in a Disney movie. *g*

Thanks for sharing these. :)

Ah... Nice. :-) Very nice. I do have a love for drabbles. So much in so little with such a nice twist in the end. On all three. Damn nice written. :-)

Great! This was a welcomed distraction in the middle of a boring workday ;)

Ahh... I'd love to re-re-re-watch the "persuade me" scene but alas, my DVD always jams just in that point!

Lovely!

Drabbles are all I have time to read at the moment and these add up to more than the sum of their parts. Just what I needed. Thank you! (And sorry to hear about the tree.)

"Subtle pantomine" ;) Perfect Jack!

There are quite a few of those double entendres indeed :p What really cracked me up was how that "Easy on the goods, darlin'" line from the CotBP was translated into my language: "Careful with the load, dear".

Didn't strike me as exactly 'innocent' either what Jack's doing with the helm of The Pearl in the end of the same movie (especially after listening to Johnny's and Gore's comments on the said scene, heh)...

I do that instead of drinking, LOL!

So happy you enjoyed them.

...the 'terms' between Jack and Calypso. The mind does reel on those negoiations.

It does! Someone needs to write fic to that effect. Maybe me...

The double entendre was subtle enough so kids would miss it, but it was amusingly obvious with the actors' delivery. Nobody can be as slyly suggestive as Johnny Depp. *G*

Very happy you enjoyed these! I really love writing drabbles. And reading them too -- short and sweet!

They were forever pushing the PG-13 envelope in those movies. Which is one more reason they were so much fun. *G*

I'd get a new DVD -- that's probably my favorite scene in the movie. They're just so cute together. But they'll probably come out with a three disk set one of these days. *G*

So happy you enjoyed these -- drabbles are so much fun to write, and to read, too. There's always time for a hundred words.

Thanks, both for reading and for the tree condolences. I love drabbles --there's always time to read a hundred words, and writing them is like doing a puzzle. :))

Yummmm!

You know I prefer longer works, but I'll take your little "tea cakes" any time! Always tasty and with exactly the right amount of spice in them.

HA!!! NOW you're caught. SO little it said, so let it be written, so let it be done!!

if you name the plot bunny you have to take it home...

Subtle! And yes, Jack's surely not responsible in any way, shape or form for things going south.

LOL! Well, possibly. I thought Calypso/the sea would be first in his affections, but Jack could be a close second, certainly.

The first one made me smile, especially subtle pantomime and an internal whisper (doubtless a lingering effect of that same oar-to-the-head trick). The second is lovely, with great descriptions, like: Those other means chased after her, though, dancing through her, outrageous, sly, and teasing as Jack himself. And the third is intriguing, I wonder what's been arranged, and Jack's had Calypso's ear for a good long time, has he? *g* Wonderful, as usual :-)

It seemed to me he had quite a history with her. There needs to be more written about that. ;-)

I'm so happy you enjoyed these!! Thank you for letting me know.
