Drabbles: 'Name Your Terms'
Oct. 21st, 2007 09:03 pm~ Name Your Terms ~
Jack - CotBP
"Name your terms, Mr. Turner."
Elizabeth goes free! and The crew are not to be harmed. Bloody hell. Did the whelp have no imagination at all?
And he'd completely ignored Jack's subtle pantomime. Had he not seen, or was this the same malice that had inspired that oar-to-the-head trick?
An internal whisper (doubtless a lingering effect of that same oar-to-the-head trick) suggested that it was just possible the situation would have benefited from a more liberal exchange of information on Jack's part.
Possible. But not probable.
Difficult not to succumb to self-doubt, however, when one's spine shivered at Barbossa's Agreed!
Elizabeth - DMC
"As I said: persuade me."
At sword's point? Or by… other means. Elizabeth 's objections caught in her throat at the wicked look Jack was giving her, suggestive of precisely what other means might prove efficacious. Unable to speak, she lifted her chin and stomped away, retreating down the deck to cool her cheeks out of range of his knowing gaze.
Those other means chased after her, though, dancing through her, outrageous, sly, and teasing as Jack himself. A giggle welled up, and though she did not permit herself such an indignity, she could not help but smile.
Bloody pirate!
Will - Post-AWE
"I won't let you do it!"
"You've your family to think about, Will. You've done your ten years. They'll be waiting for you."
Will said bitterly, "It won't be ten years for you. Mother's gone."
"She is, bless her soul. She was a good woman. I've no regrets: she gave me you. But she wasn't my first love, nor my last. It's all arranged – and this one's always had my heart."
Will stiffened. "Arranged? Did Jack have something to do with this?"
Bootstrap just smiled. "Jack put a word in, aye. He's had Calypso's ear for a good long time."

Date: 2007-10-22 11:00 am (UTC)Love the first: Jack and his ramblings, bless his heart. No one ever seems to listen to him. Had a mental flash of the 'pantomime'. Good way to start the morning.
And just how much persuading==setting terms--would Lizzie need at that point? The girl would be better off to realize she was in the face of a master on that territory.
Incredible twist in the last! Surprise! I'm beginning to see more and more evidence of the 'terms' between Jack and Calypso. The mind does reel on those negoiations.
A pleasant surprise on this mundane Monday. Adroit as always! (Gotta stop, haven't found my glasses yet and there has been no coffee.)

So happy you enjoyed them.
It does! Someone needs to write fic to that effect. Maybe me...

Date: 2007-10-22 11:50 am (UTC)I loved all three of them, especially number two. I've loved that scene ever since I realised that Jack was suggesting Elizabeth show him how she could handle his 'sword'! It took me a while to pick up on the double entendre... I guess I am too sweet and innocent. ;) Or perhaps its just that I wasn't expecting such naughtiness in a Disney movie. *g*
Thanks for sharing these. :)

Date: 2007-10-22 04:12 pm (UTC)Didn't strike me as exactly 'innocent' either what Jack's doing with the helm of The Pearl in the end of the same movie (especially after listening to Johnny's and Gore's comments on the said scene, heh)...

Date: 2007-10-22 03:53 pm (UTC)Drabbles are all I have time to read at the moment and these add up to more than the sum of their parts. Just what I needed. Thank you! (And sorry to hear about the tree.)
"Subtle pantomine" ;) Perfect Jack!
