Some Pirate Recs of Slashy Excellence

In spite of Jack's rather evident "bi vibe", it takes some brilliant writing to convince me of Jack/Male Character X. These fics are replete with brilliance, and are not to be missed...

artaxastra has taken off on a weirdly satisfying tangent in Lord John and the Pirate King (R), which is related to her wonderful post-AWE WIP, Outlaws and Inlaws (link goes to the latest chapter, which has links to all previous chapters). It seems that, post-Gods and Heroes, when Jack was nosing about in Port Royal, he encountered and formed a relationship with the new governor of Jamaica, one Lord John Grey, of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Yes, it's PotC/Outlander crossover fic and it works perfectly! artaxastra has two chapters up -- Part the First: An Erotic Encounter and Part the Second: Two Missing Pinnaces -- and there are two to go. *bounces ecstatically*

And p0wdermonkey has posted Fifth Nut Out of the Locker: Small Island Paradise, the latest in her Nuts Out stories ("Nuts Out" as opposed to artaxastra's superb Nights Out J/E stories -- bwahahahaha!). These stories use the post-Locker scenes in At World's End to great effect, developing and expanding on the hints of Barbossa/Sparrow backstory in a way that is hilarious and plausible, thanks to the excellence of the writing. Fifth Nut is NC-17, Jack/Barbossa, and in p0wdermonkey's capable hands it works!
