Recs, etc.
Dec. 29th, 2005 11:57 amOff to San Diego in a little while but wanted to rec a couple of stories.
1) The Sacking of Port Royal - TortugaBlack, a member of Black Pearl Sails, has been writing fanfiction and having it published in 'zines and sold at cons since before some of you were born. She wrote a wonderful Pirates of the Caribbean story called The Sacking of Port Royal. Previously it was only available in the printed version, at cons or by mail order, but she has decided to post it to Black Pearl Sails and I am archiving it at Black Pearl Tales as it's posted to the group site. The Introduction and Chapter 1 are up, and I'll let you know when more is available. It's a great story, and very well written.

impofperversity, home of Tess and Gloria's brilliant PotC/Quicksilver crossovers. Accomodations is a new plotline, only mildly spoilery for Quicksilver, and something different in that Sparrow ends up on Shaftoe's home turf in this one. Tess has the knack of making Sparrow and Shaftoe not only hilarious and hot, but utterly endearing as well. Very slashy, but truly not to be missed.
3) A Game at Cards byviva_gloria - You all may have noticed how much I love the Impverse. This, Gloria's holiday gift to Tess (and to us all) has been recced by several others already, with good reason. You never read about a card game quite like this one. *G*

The members of Black Pearl Sails have been writing some great Secret Santa exchange stories.hereswith wrote a wonderful one for me, Turnabout, which is action-packed J/E (no, not between the sheets -- with swords!), but there are many others as well. I'll be posting them to Black Pearl Tales as soon as I get a chance, and/or providing links to where they're posted to LJ. We sure have some talent in that group.
