Insta-Rec: 'Remeant' by fandomfan

It's been a while since I've extolled the virtues of the Impverse. Created by the completely brilliant viva_gloria and tessabeth, impofperversity is a community focusing on stories in which Pirates of the Caribbean meets and intermingles with Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle in the most delightful way. Most of the stories are Jack Sparrow/Jack Shaftoe, NC-17 slash, and you won't find better writing or hotter smut anywhere in the fandom.

As much as I enjoy the new hints of Jackish history we received in AWE, the portrait of young Jack Sparrow that tessabeth created in Picaresque is still my favorite Jack backstory. Picaresque's sequel, Trochal, which continues the story two decades on, is also dear to me. But now, fandomfan has undertaken the task of writing an alternate sequel, Remeant, and from the excellence of the first chapter it looks like it will fit beautifully with both PotC and BC canon, and contain the wonderful characterizations, tone, and language that we've come to love at impofperversity.
