~ Strange Horizon ~


Will, and Lizzie. Norrington. Swann. Gibbs. Anamaria. The whole bloody crew of the Pearl.

They’d stood up for him, each in their own way, put various and sundry aspects of existence, up to and including their very lives, on the line. For him.

Well, after all, he was Captain Jack Sparrow.

But still. It seemed to betoken something more than the settling of scores. Something that, in certain cases, crossed a line, strayed into territory he hadn’t really thought of visiting again, ever.

Trust? Friendship?

Serious matters.

It seemed there was more than one horizon beckoning him to new adventure.

Simple, but lovely drabble you've written here, love. It's so great to see Jack musing about a different horizon, and perhaps reaching for new peaks in his life that he hadn't imagined before.

Actually I was thinking of this as part of that kinder, gentler post-CotBP A/U I often write, and although Jack might think of seducing Lizzie, he wouldn't do it. Unless Will came along, too...

I get the impression that trust would be a largest of issues for Jack. He'll need be doing a whole lot more introspection to be able to come to terms with that... something that isn't always his strongest suit.

I LOVE Jack's train of thought in this drabble; all Jack's 'selves' clashing in his inner argument whether to acknowledge or not the possibility of such a new? scary? promising? situation...
