Drabble: 'Nonpareil' (J/E - G)

Wow, I should maybe warn for extreme fluff here, but hey: mothers are like this. I know from experience.

100 words, Post-AWE, and written for the current drabble challenge at blackpearlsails.

Elizabeth, taking her ease with young Jamie, who was plump and drowsy with milk, barely looked up when Jack walked in.

"You're awfully proud of that mite," Jack smiled.

"Isn't he beautiful? The best thing I've ever done."

"Let me have him, here." Jack scooped him up with a practiced air, and the baby blinked and gave a sleepy, happy gurgle. "There you are, my fine lad," said Jack. "Your Mum and Da may've given you beauty, but it's me as'll show you how to be a pirate."

"And a good man," Elizabeth added, her proud gaze on Jack now.

I can easily see Elizabeth falling in love with Jack all over again, simply for the way he dotes on her son.

Just pure-d lovely darlin' Miz Geekmama, love their voices with a sleepy full baby between. Love it that she mothers both, switching from her baby boy to the bigger one with such ease and it always tickles me when Jack is familiar with babies and their peculiar care. Yep, lots to be proud of in this one.
