Drabble: 'Call to Perfection' (W/E - G)

Another 100 words for the current potc100 prompt, this time at the end of Curse of the Black Pearl...




~ Call to Perfection ~

This is a beautiful sword. I would expect the man who made it to show the same care and devotion in every aspect of his life.

Stunned by Norrington's words, by a generosity, a nobility, that was nothing short of magnanimous, Will could only reply with a simple, "Thank you."

The sword, his masterpiece. And Elizabeth.

He had come full circle, back to the beginning, even after everything he had done. After everything he was.

Pirate.

And a good man.

As he turned from one perfection to another far dearer, he vowed he would spend his life fulfilling Norrington's words.

This is wonderful! I've always adored that scene; "nobility" is such a great word for Norrington's actions there and it's nice to see a glimpse into what Will may have been thinking at the time.

We left Norrington at such a high point there -- I think that's why it was such a shock to see him brought so low in Dead Man's Chest. So glad you liked this one. Thank you for commenting!
