For the recent prompts, 'Exit' and 'Spice'...

~ Judicious Retreat ~

“Time to go?”

“Aye!”

To the shriek of fiddles, Jack and Gibbs danced through a maze of flying fists, furniture, hats, bottles and expletives - an old story for them, though the presence of one dissipated and discontented former-commodore certainly added spice. Jack gained the balcony and caught a glimpse of his nemesis, a commanding figure even now, being aided by some stripling who seemed devilish quick with a sword.

Maybe they’d both come to find Jack on the Pearl – if they survived. Tenacity might be Norrington’s middle name, but his ability to affect an orderly withdrawal was yet unproven.

even now...being aided by some stripling who seemed devilish quick with a sword. Devilish stripling indeed! :)

Any news on the new movie? Are they filming yet?

They're supposed to be filming this summer, so they'll start soon, no doubt. JD is finishing up The Tourist with Angelina Jolie, and he was at Cannes recently -- did you see the nice pics?

Thanks for reading and commenting on the drabble -- so glad you liked it!

I'm still holding out this wild fantasy that Ian Cusick (Desmond) will somehow be cast in that movie! I mean, he lives right there on Oahu and he grows a lovely mane of long, piratey hair, and he can be Scottish or Irish or English or Spanish or, I dare say, American, and he is absolutely beautiful to behold.
FBYE - laughter See? Really, what's to stop them?

Oh, and he can play filthy-dirty and naked real well, too!
FBYE - nekkid

(Trust me, those thumbnails are worth clicking on!)

Have you read On Stranger Tides? I just finished it and am trying to puzzle out how they will turn it into a tale of Captain Jack Sparrow. Good read, although the ending is a bit abrupt!

I think it would be amazingly cool if Ian Cusick was in PotC4.

Haven't read all of On Stranger Tides yet, but it's my understanding that they aren't really using the plot as written. There may be elements of it used, and they liked the title, so they bought the rights. I need to pick that one up again and finish it.

in response to OST, it's going to be LOOSELY based.....so that usually means they are going to pull itty bitty pieces and play off them. It's probably going to be an original story line with tales from OST thrown in. IE, Blackbeard....

I still haven't read it and I am waiting too get it from the library...people keep checking it out....grrrr.

James and that "stripling" -- Elizabeth -- were indeed fun to watch as Jack and Gibbs made their timely exit. Thank you so much for reading and commenting! I'm glad you liked it.

Well done! And I love the idea that the two of them have a long history of hijinks.

Thanks for this!

That scene where they are making their exit is probably my favorite in DMC -- I just love watching Jack trying on those hats, etc., and the music is so much fun. Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed this! I'm glad you liked the picture of James. :D

...an old story for them, though the presence of one dissipated and discontented former-commodore certainly added spice. He would ;-)

...being aided by some stripling who seemed devilish quick with a sword. Loved that, of course.

Great take on that scene, and I'm so sorry I wasn't able to read my mail in time before you posted!

>>>Tenacity might be Norrington’s middle name, but his ability to affect an orderly withdrawal was yet unproven.<<< Poor James, his ability to affect an orderly withdrawl is still umproven, I doubt being thrown into a pigpen could be classified as an orderly retreat in any sense of the phrase lol. Loved this, thank you for sharing. :)

Ha! Fantastic drabble! A very fun take on a very funny scene! You really conjure it up to a "T"!

And Jack's taking notice of the "stripling who seemed devilish quick with a sword..." Priceless!

Oh, if he only knew (but, perhaps, deep down inside, he did?) ;-)

Again, so happy to see you posting again! Here's hoping that your muse has a very productive summer! ;-D
