Drabble: 'Behind the Couch' (Jack/Harry - PG-13)

For last week's 'Shoe' prompt at blackpearlsails, here's a "deleted scene" from the third chapter of Harry & the Pirate II: Swann's Revenge ("Making Merry"). The chapter is set during Will and Elizabeth's wedding reception, and some of you may remember that Jack and Harry retreated to the library in the Swann mansion for a brief respite from the festivities, enjoying a romantic interlude...



~ Behind the Couch ~


Jack goggled a bit as he took the finely shod little foot in his hand. “What’s this? Diamond-studded heels, forsooth!”

Henrietta Fanshawe née Swann, Jack’s very own pet dowager duchess, rosy with love and anticipation as she reclined amid the throw-pillows they’d used to fashion their impromptu bed, gave a low chuckle. “Do you like them?”

“Oh, I do!” said Jack. With light fingers he stroked the surface of the heel, then the silk-clad foot… the ankle… the calf...

Harry sighed happily and lay back, lifting impatient arms to him.

He kissed the foot before setting it to one side, and there followed a considerable rustling of satin and taffeta before he murmured against her ear, “But I like what’s in them so much more.”

DAMN! HOT! Damn, really! Hot! Wowie Zowie Batman, how I do love Harry and even better I love Jack Sparrow with her darlin' met his match indeed self! Okay, I'll say which parts I like the bestest...starts with "forsooth!"LOL and ends with... "more." Which you might ought to consider, cos it's my birthday soon and I don't really need anything mind you nor am I expecting anything (world peace, winning lottery number, decent pirate, er, man, good health into my 90's, one or three of my nieces becoming world famous surgeons), however...a bit more, a tiny tasteful buffet of Harry and Jack!!! Well, never remiss, perfect one size fits.... definitely in season. Okay, sorry loved it--glad she visits you still and you think to share her with us. Yeah, you are some kind of wonderful, no doubt about it.

Oh, simply lovely! I just love Jack and Harry, and it's so nice to see them make an appearance in this drabble! :-)

A beautiful little scene between them ... sweet, and sexy, and just a bit naughty! I've always loved the dynamic between Jack and this OFC of yours, so thank you for bringing them back to the canvas (however briefly!).

It's always fun to revisit the Jack&HarryVerse, and this was the first thing I thought of when I saw the prompt. Or maybe the second thing -- the odd pair of slippers Elizabeth's wearing during the pirate attack on Port Royal in CotBP was the first. But this seemed much more amusing to write. Can't remember - do you read Carole Nelson Douglas's Midnight Louie books? Temple would so covet Harry's shoes. :)

I haven't read the Midnight Louis books, must look those up on Amazon. There is a Georgette Heyer book, The Convenient Marriage, in which the heroine wears shoes with jewel-studded heels, only she ends up walking home from the ball and the shoes pinch - owie!

So glad you enjoyed the "rustling" of various materials, tricky writing that in a way that's not crude, you know? And Harry's wanton, but she's never crude. She's a nice change for Jack, that way.

MMMMmmmmm I love what's in your little drabbles so much, too. It's such a treat to have an appetizer of Harry and Jack after such a long fast!

Of course Jack would be pirately attracted to diamonds, but duchesses en dishabille are even sparklier.

It has been a while since I wrote any Harry & Jack, but every once in a while that's where the Muse takes me when I see a particular prompt. And you started a sketch of them! I believe ladymouse2 is doing one, too, and I'd really love to see both, and see how your visions of Harry compare. Not sure I have much clear description of her in the stories.
