I just realized something from my college days--I'm a freakin' calf lover (starting with yul brunner in King and I). He has beautiful calves!

Speaking of Yul Brenner, he played Jean Lafitte in The Buccaneer and my fascination with all things piratey really began when I saw that on TV. Then Disney built the ride (which takes off from Lafitte's Landing in the Anaheim version) and I was hooked, it was pirates all the way.

JD does look happy to be there, doesn't he? *g*

You know, I didn't get to Lafitte's actual wreck The Belle, but she was uncovered here nearby--double walled the wreck and then pumped out all the water from around her for a period of weeks while the crews worked--such a cool deal. And my addiction to pirates began with The Crimson Pirate, Burt Lancaster and his real life acrobat buddy (from his circus days is my understanding) tiny little dark haired dark bearded man who didn't speak...but had these lovely bright eyes. First time I felt, I felt, well, "grown up excitement".

Gibbs will be back, and corrielle says Groves will be back, too. I wish Norrington and Gillette were going to be in it. It's the same writers so they could totally bring Norrington back, returning from the dead is practically standard procedure. And Gillette could be so much fun!
