I don't really know ~ this is what I came up with on the QAR by way of wiki:
Queen Anne's Revenge. The name may have come from the War of the Spanish Succession, known in the Americas as Queen Anne's War and one in which Blackbeard had fought, or possibly named it after Anne in sympathy to the Stuart claim to the British throne. Apparently Blackbeard only used the ship for a year or so before running her aground in 1718.
Much as I love the looks of Blackbeard's flagship, I would sorely miss the Pearl were she not in the film. After all, when last we saw her she was sailing off into the sunset under the steady hand of Barbossa! That just ain't right!
