"Over in New Orleans Square, preparation has begun for the May 7th premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides. The footprint for the grandstands is a bit different this time around, as they will have to fit more audience into an area closer to the center of the screen due to the 3D nature of the film. This will result in a more vertical layout."
























In other news, stayed up until 4:30 a.m. watching the royal wedding, was there ever such a crazy, romantic, and hopeful event? But maybe that could be said for all weddings, to some extent. I think it's amazingly generous of them to share their experience and their happiness with all of us. The pageantry! The hats! The music! The carriages! The beauty of the bride and groom! And the familiar and ever-new words of the ceremony. Well worth losing a few hours sleep to be there with them.

And now, we're off to the Getty Villa, it's a gorgeous spring day, the last of my Easter Vacation.

Not only Tom Sawyer Island. Splash Mountain and Star Tours are down, too. But Pirates is up, yes indeed. *g*

Oh, is that why Splash Mountain is closed? I've noticed it's been closed the last couple of times I've been there. Star Tours has been closed for a while now, they're renovating it. I can't wait to see the finished product. And California Adventure might as well change its name to Constructionland, lol. There are so many walls up all over the place. It's going to be really nice when its finished. I love what they're doing to the boardwalk area.

And dear miz flo...according to my superstitious and magical upbringing in the Deep South, his mama was there and thus the blessings of beautiful day, pulled off with nary a hitch...She holds her boys and the ones that love them in her hand and heart. So I believe. That's why there are no great psychics in the South lol==we all talk regularly with those we love who've passed and they certainly make the effort for us! You know I used to be embarassed to say such as this, but now, it's just how things are in my world.

Thanks for the posting==I find it odd that so few of the folks I know here are even a bit interested. I'm part of that generation who grew up thinking we were going to marry their horse-faced Daddy Charles, and lord, we're both glad that bullet got dodged! lol! I was soooo glad she had the gown she did==Diana's was absolutely too cutesy for words==a really busy combo of about 14 styles...plus, my opinion, but you shouldn't really look like a dumpling on your wedding day! Even a darlin' smiling young dumplin'.

Plus...you are going to have such an excellent time! PLEASE!! Go for a big old snootful of air when you get to shake hands with Mr. Depp==it is imperative I be titilated (?) by at least hearing how delightful he smells! I so imagine he smells of spring and clean sheets, not perfumed but just living.

I remember watching Charles and Diana marry way back when (yes, her dress was one for the record books, what were they thinking -- and she was so beautiful, yet even she couldn't quite pull that one off, plus the material wrinkled when she was stuffed into the carriage on the way to the church), and I'm sure I'll always remember staying up half the night watching William and Kate (MUCH nicer dress) tie the knot, so much fun! The choir music alone was to die for, but the whole spectacle was just perfect, start to finish. I woke up to a lot of sour grapes headlines from Salon in my email and hit the delete button immediately, there are people who just can't resist complaining about anything and everything.

I do wish you could have managed to come to the red carpet event with us, but I will surely tell all and with lots of pix, too. Don't know if I'll get close enough to Mr. Depp to shake hands, but I'll try, for your sake. ;)
