Drabble: 'Low Tide' (Jack - mid-AWE - G)

This is that "bucket" drabble I promised pearlseed. *g*

Jones in a bucket.

Jones.

In a bucket.

Jack’s mouth quivered against a singularly inappropriate grin, fortunately hidden by his moustache. The bubble of laughter that welled up was another matter and, when a slight snort escaped, he immediately sensed Hector’s glare, and heard Lizzie hiss, “What?”.

“Nothing.” Jack lifted his chin and walked on beside them. Ever nearer to his fate, too, which should have been enough to sober him.

Will was there, ready to squeak beef, per the Plan. And there was that poisonous little toad, Becket.

And Davy Jones.

Monstrous.

Cruel.

Merciless.

In a bucket!

This may explain why Jones was extra snappish with Jack in that scene- he knew he looked ridiculous, standing in that thing like a kid about to get a washtub bath. :)

Sweet Jesu, GMa2....Lord love a duck...you gots the timing all over you. This is just funny flat out cos I can see and hear Jack with his "nervous" response to the ultimate scary Jones... in a bucket...yep I'd be snorting too. It's fun to laugh so hard right before noddy-bye. Whatever brought this to mind, well, right at twisted, innit? Thank you kindly for the lovely bit of goodness.

LOL! This is superb, and s-o-o-o perfectly Jack, having to stifle laughter at the sight of the monster of his nightmares reduced to having to stand in a bucket of water on a sandbar!

You know how people say the way to fight fear or intimidation is by imagining your opponent in their underwear? I think after seeing Jones like this, and getting that rather undignified image of him in his head, Jack could never be quite as cowed by him again! ;-)

Great drabble! Not only a spot-on depiction of Jack, but also funny as all get-out! Excellent job! :-)
