Accident Drabble
Feb. 23rd, 2005 06:57 pmI was on my way home from the Japanese Take Out place (Shirmp & Tempura Udon, and Chicken Curry, and an Almond Milk Tea with large boba) when this drabble came to me, like a Vision. This week's theme is "Accident(s)".
In other news, I found out I am getting my work computer upgraded with the DVD burner I wanted, AND 1 gig of RAM (WhooHoo!). Also got received my new scanner today, so I will have much fun with that tomorrow.
Must eat the Udon & Curry now, and hopefully finish that fic I've been working on, and then (if I can stay awake) read and edit for
ladywarringford, and give feedback to
fabu and
the_dala and
viva_gloria (An Alchemical Prescription!! Yes!!).
~~ Chance Meeting ~~
They met quite by accident.
A bit of a splash and a roar from the battlements— Elizabeth!— and he’d found himself taking the role of Reluctant Hero. He wondered what sort of Elizabeth allowed herself to come to such a pass, but soon found out ‘allowed’ wasn’t quite the right word.
Damned corset! Came near to killing her, though her Da didn’t seem to see it in that light.
And Norrington: the Scourge of Piracy. What did the fool think he was up to? Robbery? Or ravishment? With those bloody Marines right there?
Yes. An accident. Pure happenstance.
Wasn’t it?

That was so cool!
Date: 2005-02-23 09:17 pm (UTC)BTW... how do I make one of those nifty icons? LOL! the_dala has a particular favorite of mine -- 'Miranda and the Tempest' by John William Waterhouse. Wonder why that one appeals, eh? ;)

Date: 2005-02-23 09:25 pm (UTC)Ha! They aren't hard to make if you have a graphics program, like Photoshop or something. They just have to be 100x100 pixels., and less than 40k (I think). Or, you can gack them from others, which I have done quite often. There are lots of icon communities (
So happy you liked the drabble--your turn now! It's just 100 words. ;)

Date: 2005-02-24 12:12 am (UTC)So sorry I don't have your story all edited--STILL trying to finish up mine. But I noticed only the one spelling error on my first readthrough, like I said--should be altar instead of alter. Hopefully you have other, more reliable sources of editing. I still may get to do it tomorrow, but I know you want to put it up on Friday and I don't want to hold you up.
There's an interesting LJ Community I just joined --
Bed now. *sigh* Still have a bit to go on my story. :(
