Got an invitation to create an account and geekmama, the user name I've had for years over at LJ, is already taken. >:-( Not a good way to start out here. However, it's free, so here I am, dwgm. Not sure how much I'll use this account as all my RL peeps are on LJ and have no fandom issues, but we shall see.

I also created an account, I'm mamazano over there as well. I will be curious as to where this goes, I doubt I'll be leaving LJ, but it is fun to explore new horizons.

Glad you had more success than I in securing your username. I was highly annoyed to find that someone had taken mine already, but whatever. The crossposting is automatic, if you set it up that way, so that's pretty cool.

I got an invitation in my email this morning, which was convenient. I was thinking I'd have to post on LJ begging someone to give me an invite code.

I kind of like really short usernames, anyway, so dwgm is OK by me, I guess. :)

I'd commented at Dreamwidth on something viva_gloria had crossposted to LJ. I signed in on OpenID (which is "yourljusername.livejournal.com") and confirmed it, and this morning they sent out invitations to all those who'd done that.

You can also buy an account, or those that acquired accounts previous to the April 30 grand opening have been issued a certain number of invitation codes.

It's really really easy to cross-post to LJ from Dreamwidth, so it may be of more use than Insane Journal, etc.
