Those poor shorn masts! I do hope they remember to CGI the rest of them in next time. The pictures, though, are beautiful. The carvings on the stern weren't always painted white, were they? Maybe Jack has been doing some redecorating!
in Curse of the Black Pearl the stern decorations are dark and dingy like the rest of her, she's all black. I thought the same about Jack redecorating LOL
Pretty icon, isn't it--it's the Bounty, done in stained glass.
The Black Pearl in the movie didn't have shorn masts. In spite of what's on the poster, I can't imagine they won't fix that and she'll be as gorgeous as we'd like her to be--and hopefully not just fixed with CGI.
I have a BIG poster--the one they gave out at the premier! My niece gave it to me. Don't have room on my bedroom wall, unfortunately, so it's rolled up, at the moment.

No, it was only on the posters that that mistake was made. I'm sure they will fix her masts one way or the other for the sequel.
How cool to have the poster that was given out at the premiere! How big is BIG, exactly? Myself, I've got room for exactly one more poster and that space is reserved for PotC2.
I love how they gave her a gilded rump though at first glance I thought "no! what?! it's the Black Pearl not the Wasa!" But then I thought of... Jack standing on the docks, hands framing out his visualiztion of revitalized Pearl to frustrated craftsmen suspicious of his ever fluttering fingers... and I think she looks quite lovely really.
I really do need to take a trip out to Disneyland. Particularly when they add that whole movie sequence to the ride... WDW's only going for an animatronic Sparrow, which is nice but... I'm slightly disappointed in them for not 'going all out' when it's obvious that the movie is a hit.

:-) What a nice image!
I picture the Pearl becoming, once she has been back in Jack's hands for a while, festooned with ribbons and carvings in unexpected places ... just like him. *g*
