May. 16th, 2005 09:19 pmJo of Black Pearl Sails pointed the way to some spoilery stuff and some new pics from the set posted at ohjohnny.net. Here's one of 'em...

Jo, who is very knowledgeable about myth and folklore, and enjoys meta discussion, has established a new Yahoo group called potcfreedom, a sort of spin-off from Black Pearl Sails. There's already been some very interesting discussion--you might want to check it out.
My darling
hereswith finished and posted some of the most delicious J/E ever: White Squall. It's the latest installment in her wonderful series that began with A Matter of Trust. She is an amazing writer, and I don't say that only because I am privileged to be her beta reader.
Also gave some beta help to
fabu yesterday--she's making great progress on her story, Squaring Accounts, her sequel to the wonderful Triangulation (both J/W/E); and today I edited a chapter for
erinya, whose story Choices (J/E) just gets better and better.
I recently read two very impressive stories featuring Jack and James...
A Strange Lull by
marinarusalka is six chapters of hot, cleverly written fun--don't miss it, if you've a taste for Sparrington.
And then there's
galadhir's Negotiations, which is PG and one of those fics where one wants to highlight and comment on every other line--there is so much food for discussion in every chapter it's hard to decide where to start.
galadhir is new to the PotC fandom, but what a fantastic beginning she's made with this story. Don't miss it!

A good weekend was had--the weather was gorgeous, and I took a chance it would stay that way and heated the pool.
weemonkey6 and I swam all afternoon yesterday, while playing tunes on my portable Mp3 player, and drinking frozen daquiris. Kinda like Heaven.
Also 1) sorted my LJ memories neatly and saved all my own stuff there, and 2) finished archiving the
pirategasm February '04 fics in
potc_archive (about time, eh?).
Went to see Uncle Fran tonight -- no traffic again, which seems little short of miraculous. He is on the mend, back at the homey and comfortable nursing home he lives in. Tests were negative for bad stuff, thank goodness. We saw the owner of the nursing home tonight--a sweet little Hispanic lady--and she says he's slowing down a little, but is generally in pretty good shape, all things considered. Many thanks to everyone who expressed such kind thoughts when he was in the hospital last week!
That's it: I'm for bed. Good night, and sweet dreams, all. :)
