You Are 62% American
Most times you are proud to be an American.
Though sometimes the good ole US of A makes you cringe
Still, you know there's no place better suited to be your home.
You love your freedom and no one's going to take it away from you!

It's by no means perfect (what human endeavor is?) but it's worth holding on to. Happy Fourth of July, all.

And totally off-topic, but I'm loving the latest Harry installment! :) Happy Fourth to you! :)

{Sets up an alarm to let her know when to crawl through the Internet to read over Geek Mama's shoulder because she's writing more Harry.} :)

Glad you're enjoying it!

Are you? Well, my Dad's ancesters were from the British Isles, so that has to count for something. (Mom's were from the Alsace region of France.)

Thanks for the good wishes for the Fourth!

That must be pretty cool to be able to trace your family back to another place - especially France! Do you know when they emigrated?

Actually I do have American relatives (first cousin once removed, I think), but they're descended from the British branch of the family, rather than the other way around. The only non-English forebear I know of is my Irish great-grandmother. :-)

The only Americans that can claim to be decended from native Americans are Native Americans.

My French ancestors emigrated in the late 1800's. My Grandmother's parents, I think--her last name was Guerrinot (like my characters Louise and Amelie in H&tP3 & 4).

My Dad's family came over somewhat earlier, with William Penn -- the Zane family. The author Zane Grey was a distant cousin, and wrote at least a couple of books about the family, besides all his Westerns.

Me too. 42%. But I have my questions about the poll. If you say that flag-burning has its legitimate place, does the poll take points away or give them to you? Is it more American to protect my right to own a gun or to protect the rights of children not to be shot by them?

Very dubious poll, IMO.

I guess my politics really played in the quiz. I'm now 43% American and I've been here my whole life... Oops.
Oh, thanks for the Harry. *grins like an idiot*

Ooh,I like your Orlando icon. He looks rather intense.

You're welcome for the Harry. So happy it left you grinning! More coming soon--I'm trying to finish it up while I'm on vacation. ;)

I have so many more intense Orlando that it isn't funny. He seems to have that look often...

I really like the Harry stories and will be sad to see them end. But, I can't wait to see more!
