I know! At first glance I thought it just silly, but then it goes on and on and on, and I changed 'just silly' to strangely artistic and obsessive. The chipmunk's appearances are definitely a plus: cute and yet surreal.

Oh, the tune is great! We have the song on this old recording by the Robert Shaw Chorale. It's a great CD. Other favorites on it are "A-Roving", "Swansea Town", and, yes, "Spanish Ladies"! *G* Take a listen!

I've been listening to that recording since I was about 16 -- a LONG time ago! My kids grew up listening to it too, and ladymora has it on her Mp3 playlist at her home. We have purchased several different versions over the years -- vinyl disc, cassette, and now CD. It's a favorite. I think you'll enjoy it!
