hereswith, wrote me a fantastic ficlet, Halcyon, a perfect follow-up to White Squall, which she finished several months ago. The whole series is here -- read it, if you haven't done so, and read it again, if you have. Beautifully poetic, and yet eminently down-to-earth as well. Perfect J/E.
I'll be spending the evening posting those stories, and maybe some more drabbles at Black Pearl Tales, the archive website I'm working on for Black Pearl Sails and Black Pearl Library. I finally finished revamping it -- it's no longer a frames site, and we can get exact url's for each story now. There are probably more high tech ways of doing it, but I'm happy with the way it looks.
Went with a friend to see Pride and Prejudice last night, and we both absolutely loved it. As Stephen Holden of the New York Times said, "... "Pride & Prejudice" gathers you up on its white horse and gallops off into the sunset. Along the way, it serves a continuing banquet of high-end comfort food perfectly cooked and seasoned to Anglophilic tastes. In its final minutes, it makes you believe in true love, the union of soul mates, happily-ever-after and all the other stuff a romantic comedy promises but so seldom delivers. For one misty-eyed moment, order reigns in the universe." That's it, in a nutshell. A movie that was completely, eminently suited to my tastes. Must go see it again, as soon as possible.
Must go sweep patio, and then go to the store --weemonkey6 is having a few friends over tonight. It's about 70 degrees out, a beautiful night!
