Oh the hotness! The chinooks are blowing here, mate! Thanks for the lovely scan. I caught the article online, but are there any pictures inside the magazine?

There's a bunch of pix, some of him, some of the movie. I'll have to look closer when I get home. I didn't scan this -- got it off the link posted on [livejournal.com profile] depp_daily a couple of days ago. But I got tired of the pop-ups on that site, so I decided to post it here.

If there's anything else that needs scanning I'll do it tomorrow and post the pix. I know there's at least one more really good one of him.

Lovely. I have looked for that magazine, but it's Canada, you know. We have McLeans which has not had the good sense to plaster its cover and following pages with Johnny Depp. What can they be thinking?

Ooooooh! *Bounces around* You are the greatest! As soon as that blasted e-mail is working again, I shall do so immediately. And thanks for the link to the news short. I am soooooo looking forward to that movie! I loved the footage of Gibbs!

No problem. Maybe I'll run by the store after work and pick one up for you -- just to make sure they don't run out.

Re: Gibbs aka Kevin McNally -- I'd love to see a longer interview with him.

I'm afraid I'm liable to spend way too much time and money on that film when it comes out.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. *much hugs*

As for a Kevin McNally interview, that sounds great. Actually, I'd really like to see and interview with the actor who plays Mr. Cotton! LOL!

I foresee record-breaking theatre attendance myself. Then I'll probably buy the DVD and then the special edition DVD and the soundtrack. At least the action figures don't attract me--not close enough portraits. Oh well. I'll see you in the Poor House.

LOL.. yea, the action figures aren't a big draw for me. But the t-shirts, especially those with Jack on them *drool*, the dvd, the soundtrack, and oh, lest we forget the future special Collector's Edition that will surely have all three movies in it, plus every single deleted scene, including, I'm sure, those deleted scenes they will save beyond those that come out with each individule movie dvd, when it's all done and said in 2007 and the 3rd movie is out. (Whooh.. try saying all that in one breath...*pants*)

Indeed. I'll be taking out a loan for all my piratical treasures.

Oh, and did you know that Bruckhiemer is saving every studio set they use in HOPES that Depp will want to make a 5th and perhaps 6th PotC movie some time? Lordy, Lordy, Lordy, it'll be a pirate empire I'm certain. More like a Pirate Dynasty!

HUZZAH!

Yes, they've got the "Put out another edition of the movie, add one thing and sell it right back to rabid fans again" thing figured right out. I know I'll be buying the new edition of Platoon just for those extra scenes of Johnny they added back in. So I'll certainly be owning every possible version of these movies.

I did hear that Bruckheimer was saving sets and costumes. And Johnny said, with the right script and director, he'd be back. The TV spot above was encouraging when Ted and Terry said that this time they tended to step back and let Johnny run with the character. He's got such a genius funnybone that I can't wait to see what he does. What that probably means is that all the best lines aren't in the script! I'll certainly go watch PotC as long as he'll act in it. I'm so glad he doesn't compromise his artistic integrity even for megabuck corporations like Disney.

Ooooh, icon! It looks good, doesn't it?!

Read the article online the other day, and have been haunting Borders, etc. waiting for the actual magazine to show -- finally found it on the stands today, when I was checking for other things at the grocery story.

"Louche Narcissus": yeah, that's a pretty good encapsulation of the character.

Say it loud! It really does look good.

Wonder if we'll be able to get it here - there's a huge WHSmith I can try that carries overseas magazines, including Rolling Stone, which I'll be looking out for in the near future.

I liked the part about him being like a cat licking its paw, too.

The cat analogy was indeed excellent. There's something very restful about him, along with that randomness that cats have.

Yes, these days he seems so very mellow. Wise, even. Very at ease with his place in the world, yet still not averse to causing the occasional upset.

He seems much happier, since his more permanent relationship and the kiddies came along, which is so nice to see. And he's established himself as a character actor, so he'll never be type-cast, even if he plays Captain Jack in a half dozen sequels. Seeing as how his contentment leads to more movies for us to watch, I'd say it's all to the good.

How many words is that picture worth, you ask?

THREE: And they are- "OH! MY! GOD!" *drool*

Thanks for the link to the interview about Johnny. I'd never thought about it, but as Bruckhiemer put it, that none of them would be there making a sequel if Johnny hadn't agreed to be in it. WOW.. that was so true!!!

I'll now go to bed tonight with drool-worthy visions of Johnny in my head.
