[livejournal.com profile] __shy__ posted a link to this interview with Johnny Depp, and I had to laugh. He says, "I'm actually very excited to see it myself - I'll just close my eyes when I come on the screen and then somebody can poke me when I'm gone!" -- and here those are the parts we're all most anxious to see, of course.

All right. No more posting. MUST work now. Absolutely.

*grins*

It is a great interview, isn't it? I love him for being so self-conscious. :-)

You know, even as gorgeous as he is, if he was your typical arrogant ass of an actor I (and many others) wouldn't pay much attention to him. But the discomfort and even disbelief he shows regarding all the media attention, and the consistant evidence in interviews, first hand accounts by fans, etc. that he's just a really nice person makes him irresistably attractive. He's about the only actor I've ever wished I could really just have a conversation with.

Very well put! It's funny, though, how we like Johnny for not being arrogant, yet love the same quality in Jack. Fictional characters can get away with a hell of lot...

Will you be scanning your autographed Newsweek? Please please please???

You're welcome for the links - it isn't the spoilers for me with the review, it's that reading someone else's opinion on DMC before I've seen it will colour my own reaction. Don't know if I'll actually be able to hold out for ten days, but we'll see. :-)

I know. And yet the character is so multi-layered. We know that he's been through some really terrible stuff in his life, and things don't always go well for him in PotC1, yet he always hopes for and works toward a favorable outcome with whatever opportunities and talents he's given.

Yes, I'll scan the Newsweek cover and post it. Don't know if I'll have time today, but tomorrow for sure.

I know what you mean about the reviews. I probably will try to resist reading more until I've seen the movie.

Thanks for those links, btw. The review isn't very spoilery, btw -- the reviewer was pretty careful about that.
