'It would never have worked ...'

Or would it? We'll know in a month and a half. Until then, we have the trailer, exciting and cryptic as it is, and I must say, there's been quite a lot of excellent J/E fic posted since it came out. Here's a sampling...
My good friend,
hereswith wrote the lovely Leave-taking, which is about that other "It would never have worked..." moment, at the end of CotBP.
Season of the Witch by
lady_di75 -- that's the link to chapters 1 thru 4, and 5 is here -- continues the story where Dead Man's Chest left off, with great characterizations, pacing, and plot.
There were four entries for the
je_challenge that just closed (theme: Comfort), and all of them are amazing...
It's morning aboard the Black Pearl, post AWE, in
bravenewcentury's Seabirds. Possible spoilers there.
Jack and Elizabeth discover China and something of themselves, too, in The Pearl River, which is also set post AWE. The author,
orange_crushed, also recently wrote the haunting, and far less comfortable, She Dies an Ordinary Death.
erinya (who was kind enough to favor us with her presence at our Easter brunch, yesterday -- *fangirls*) wrote the loveliest hurt/comfort fic, The Swan's Wing, a prequel to my own Occasion of Sin (which was not a "Comfort" entry) , and both hers and mine contain possible spoilers for AWE.
erinya also wrote the wonderful but very much darker As the Sea, which is an entirely different picture of what fate could have in store for Elizabeth and Will. Also, don't miss her very well-thought-out, beautifully written essay, Breaking all the rules: social transgression, gender-bending, and equality in the J/E dynamic.
And finally,
fid_gin's The End makes the most of that intriguing J/E moment in the trailer.
On a personal note, I hope everyone on my friend's list had a happy and blessed Easter (or just a wonderful Springtime weekend, if you don't celebrate).
