The activity at [livejournal.com profile] potc_dogwatch yesterday was to write a memory, in character. Here's mine, which is also a reply to the drabble challenge at Black Pearl Sails...

~ The Right Words ~

"No! NOT GOOD!" Bloody hell, that's all I could manage to get out when I woke to the smell of smoke, followed by the sight of Lizzie burning all that beautiful rum – and everything else. Devious wench. I knew she was spirited, and hot-at-hand, but to risk both our lives on such a wager?

I could've murdered her! Which she knew, though she didn't let on, not then.

Not 'til I came back up the beach to her, Norrington's lot trailin' behind. She didn't gloat, looked a bit sick, actually, and says, "I had to, Jack. Thank you for not shooting me."

Well, I couldn't deny she'd saved us, so I just told her, "Don't mention it, love," and she smiled again.

Bloody, beautiful pirate.

Wonderfully fun, and one of my most treasured scenes as well. How I love the Original Jack!

I think AWE Jack will be much more like CotBP Jack, at least it seems so from the trailers. Thanks for reading and commenting! Glad you enjoyed!

Oh that's sweet! Of course it's a gamble, and it's the kind of daft gamble Jack would take himself! Peas in a pod!

Wonderful. I miss the Jack of the first movie (spent last night watching both movies, ended up posting some questions/observations on my LJ). I can't wait for the next movie!

Love the idea that she knew what he was doing behind her, before he stalked off up the hill. Marvelous!

I can't imagine she didn't know he'd be livid at such wanton destruction (and I'm not talking about the palm trees).

So happy you enjoyed!!

Hee, nice! I love the idea that she knew he was feeling murderous. :-)

She must have taken his reaction into consideration before she began -- that was a gamble, too.

Very happy you liked!

Ohh, such a wonderful scene and a wonderful look at it from Elizabeth's perspective!

"No! NOT GOOD!" Bloody hell, that's all I could manage to get out when I woke to the smell of smoke, followed by the sight of Lizzie burning all that beautiful rum – and everything else.

This reminds me of what Johnny talks about in the commentary on the DVD...about how this usually articulate pirate could only put together a string of 5 words that pretty much just included "no" and "not good."

A wonderful read! Thank you!

Wonderful. I like that you have Elizabeth knowing just how angry he was, and her reaction when he returns when Norrington's men trailing behind. And the last line is perfect :-)

I can't believe she wouldn't realize he'd be furious. She took a risk there, too, though even that early in their relationship she knew what he was.

So happy you liked it!!!

thank you for not shooting me. Heh. ;)

I like how in the commentary, it's mentioned that Keira had no idea that Johnny was completely stealing the scene behind her. Makes the scene even funnier. But I do think Elizabeth had to be aware of how freaked out he was.

Good job.

Btw, saw my first bus-stop AWE poster this weekend! Let the marketing commence!

Yes. I was reminded how good he is at reacting to what others are doing when I saw the scene in the AWE trailer, where Barbossa is talking to Sao Feng and Jack's standing a little behind Barbossa -- rather hilarious! It's going to be great to have more of Jack/Johnny in another three weeks!

I'm very glad you enjoyed this. Thank you so much for reading and commenting.
