Last night, my friend and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

She got up, unplugged the TV, and threw out my wine. She's such a bitch.....

I am so with you on that. Although I personally don't consider my activities on the laptop anything like watching TV, particularly writing. There is nothing more involving, as I'm sure you've found, whereas watching TV is pretty mindless (and mindless entertainment does have its place).

Oh yes... I get totally absorbed in whatever I am doing on my laptop - reading and writing usually. It is so easy to lose track of time...

Fortunately my kids stop me from getting too absorbed. They always seem to want something from me... bless 'em!

It amazes me that you are able to get all that writing done when you have little ones. Of course writing on the computer is much easier than by hand, which is what I used to struggle to do when mine were little. I've been catching up for lost time these last four years. *g*
