I remember reading a story about some birds that live in the city imitating the sounds of cell phones, which I thought was kind of sad in a way, but kind of neat.
I ♥ nature documentaries; have to watch National Geographic every Saturday evening...
I love them too, though I rarely watch TV any more. But from childhood on, nature documentaries were among my favorites -- I grew up when Jacque Cousteau was making his wonderful pieces about the sea, and we watched Discovery and David Attenborough's shows, and many others with great interest.
Glad you enjoyed the clip -- that bird is amazing!!
Thought I'd squeeed over this, darn it! I had to hunt it down tonight to send to some friends and now realize it is just another of the many things I meant to do!
I remember seeing this remarkable display years ago when that documentary aired originally. As the owner of a parrot and a fancier of the Mockingbird, I know that some are amazing mimics, but really, this one takes the cake!
