Why-con Meme
1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee.
As icon squee seemed eminently desirable, I replied to
hendercats's post and she picked the icons under the cut...

Flaming June, by Fredrick Lord Leighton. I just love a) the colors -- that dress is gorgeous, b) that she's Junoesque, as they say, and yet very beautiful, and c) that it's such a restful picture.
-------------------

This is, I believe, Madeline Bassett, from Jeeves and Wooster. In any case, it is she who is reputed to have observed that the stars are God's daisy chain, and of course she is destined to be disillusioned, probably sooner than later.
I adore Wodehouse.
-------------------

This, of ccourse, is Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter stories, and a very cool character she is, too. Had to have at least one Harry Potter icon!
-------------------

The Farewell of Telemachus and Eucharis by Jacques-Louis David, one of my favorite paintings at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. So sweetly romantic.
-------------------

And last, I made this recently for
weemonkey6, after finally viewing Napoleon Dynamite. This is one of her favorite lines from the movie -- Napoleon's grandma left him in charge of feeding her llama, Tina, and he's less than enthused about it.
weemonkey6 is also fond of the Llama in the sock puppet cartoon, Sifl & Olly...
We tried to find the Llama School once, when we were in Santa Monica, taking Pico to Colorado, but then we missed Las Palmas and blew it. Oh, well. It was a good day anyway.

Yeah, I think.. I think you take, uh, Las Palmas
Take Las Palmas to Colorado
Take Colorado down to Pico
And that's how you GET TO LLAMA SCHOOL!
You go to Pico,
You take Pico to Colorado
Take Colorado to Las Palmas
And that's how you GET TO LLAMA SCHOOL!
Pico!
Take that to...
Colorado
Then go down to...
Kopico?
And that's how you GET TO LLAMA SCHOOL!
Now you say Pico
And take your little llamas
Colorado, Colorado!
Las Palmas... GET TO LLAMA SCHOOL!
Get to LLAMA SCHOOL!
You got to go to LLAMA SCHOOL!
We tried to find the Llama School once, when we were in Santa Monica, taking Pico to Colorado, but then we missed Las Palmas and blew it. Oh, well. It was a good day anyway.

And huzzah to you for being a Wodehouse fan. Isn't the daisy chain comment from the same story (or episode, dep. on if you're reading or watching) as the newt mating display? I loved watching that sweeping the Drones as the latest dance craze....

Yes, I've read a lot of Wodehouse over the years. He's so veddy veddy hilariously British!
Icons! How about...

Sweeney Todd - Made by me. I think this was the first promo pic where he was covered in blood. *g* I loved the pic and had to make an icon. Didn't get the blood as red as I wanted it, though (because I'm too lazy to experiment with layers^^).
Sweeney/Razor - Made by me, after a request by
Depp *LOL* - made by me. I loved that photoshoot with Tim Burton, and I needed a *lol* icon.^^ The circles actually were a coincidence, though. I was playing around with backgrounds, because I didn't like the simple white one, and then I found the circles, and suddenly it was like that.^^ It makes me happy.:)
Sweeney light - made by
Jack yay - made by me. Saw that screencap and had to make this icon! *g* I always think of the scene when I see it and it was a great scene, too.^^

And poor Jack hadn't much reason to laugh - there are some behind the scenes pics in which you can see that Depp really had fun, but it wouldn't have fit the character. Which is a shame. There can't be enough happy!Jack. :)

I think they should definitely be encouraged to continue working (and playing) together.
And Jack, yes, though his optimism and perseverance are two things we can't help but admire in him, his life hasn't been a barrel of laughs. That's fun to fix in fanfiction, though. ;)

And I always love it when you fix that! ;)

I adore that Luna is your lone HP icon. :) And whenever you use the Flaming June one, I'm amazed anew at how calming the beautiful image is.
It's great fun to know the why about these - thanks so much for playing!

#2- I love socks, stripes, argyles, rainbows, etc. Finally have a pair with pink hearts and skull & crossbones on them. *squee*. Photo of me wearing a favorite pair of argyles.
#3- Sinan & AnaMaria from 'Mask & Mirror' 'verse. Believe it or not I'm still working on this and have the next chapter fleshed out. This is from the drawing I did to go along with the story.
#4- My pretty blue doumbek. Second to dancing, I love playing my drum. Learning the rhythms has improved my dancing and I like contributing to the energy in drum circles.
#5- Drawing of Me done by B when she was 4. Hard to tell but I've got purple ponytails in this drawing, she knows me well!

I have little icons but I'd like to play. :D Or what would you think about reviving it? Maybe you could post it once more, people have new icons and new thoughts to write about them, maybe all would enjoy it again? :)
