We started a little late, but had a very successful Secret Santa Fic Exchange at the Black Pearl Sails Yahoo group.
I got mine in just before the deadline today, due to research needs, flailing indecision, and (as usual) procrastination of a high order. Fortunately I was able to get down to writing on Sunday evening, continued (with some interruptions) all day yesterday, and sent the last of it to [livejournal.com profile] hereswith to edit early this afternoon (and thank goodness she was available to look these over for me).

There are twelve drabbles of varying lengths, written for [livejournal.com profile] erinya per her Secret Santa request: Jack visiting Shipwreck Cove for Christmas. In the spirit of hundreds of movies about coming home for the holidays. Humor, romance, family antics--whatever strikes Santa's fancy. If she wants to add a little J/E romantic comedy in there, so much the better, but I won't mind if she doesn't. Some sappiness is totally okay.

Obviously the whole thing is very Christmassy, but I know there are folks like me who truly love the holiday and won't mind a little recap of last week's joy.

Lastly, yes, this is Jack/Elizabeth, for the most part, though lots of other characters get to put in their two cents. And yes, once again I'm borrowing elements of [livejournal.com profile] artaxastra's wonderful post-AWE series, Outlaws and Inlaws. My deepest thanks to her!

I participated in the Yuletide fic exchange this year, and it was quite an experience. Georgette Heyer's The Grand Sophy was one of the fandoms I both requested and offered to write, and I received The Grand Sophy is Surprised by [livejournal.com profile] gloriana, which I just loved. In addition, I received an extra "Yuletide Treat", Christmas Red by Willow Smith, which is based on Georgette Heyer's These Old Shades, another favorite book of mine!

I wrote En Dishabille for [livejournal.com profile] neonhummingbird, which turned out surprisingly well for my first foray outside PotC in many years. My deepest thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] hereswith and [livejournal.com profile] the_stowaway who both beta read for me, and whose input certainly improved the story.

Yuletide inspired 1291 authors to produce 2031 stories in 733 small fandoms, and the organization of the whole thing was a work of art in itself. Pretty amazing, I must say! Check out some of the stories there, if you get a chance -- some great writers participated, and with that many fandoms represented there is something for anyone and everyone.
