Drabble: 'Fate Intervenes' (Beckett, W/E)
May. 21st, 2008 07:22 amWrote this for the 'Fate' challenge at Black Pearl Library (BPSails' sister group on Yahoo). It was written a long time ago, but I don't think I ever posted it. 0.o
~ Fate Intervenes ~
Beckett had never forgotten.
He'd been young, very young when he'd met Captain Jack Sparrow, rising star of the Company. Cutler had been startled, then charmed, then full of… well, something more. Sparrow was no doubt vastly amused. They were nearly of an age, yet Sparrow seemed older, and infinitely more worldly. And, of course, he was Captain Jack Sparrow.
"Perhaps you remember a certain pirate named Jack Sparrow. "
"Captain!" the two snapped, instantly, and Miss Swann reiterated, with some heat: "Captain Jack Sparrow."
"Captain Jack Sparrow." Beckett savored the words, his lips curving. "Yes. I thought you might."

So glad you thought Beckett's voice right in this. He's a smooth customer, very easy to "hear".
