Drabble: 'Winds of Fate'
Oct. 18th, 2008 11:15 amMy Muse has been waylaid by too much RL lately. Finally managed to write a 'Wind' drabble, at least, and maybe I'll be able to write a 'Name' one and a 'Threat' one, before the day's out.
A hundred words of young Will and Elizabeth, with thanks to
hereswith for looking it over.
~ Winds of Fate ~
The boy stood at the rail, flanked by Swanns. The three were looking out across the water at their destination, a green haze on the horizon at this distance. As the new governor expounded upon the delights of Port Royal, his daughter slipped a comforting hand about that of her "charge".
"'Tis an ill wind as blows no one good," Gibbs remarked at the sight, sounding somewhat less morose than usual. Then, apparently remembering himself, he flicked a wary glance at the lieutenant.
But Norrington only lifted a wry brow. "Indeed. Fortune certainly seems to be smiling upon young Turner."
