Two more days and I'll be back at work. It's been a lovely couple of weeks off, though, and good fic has been icing on the cake. I owe big thanks to...

tiamary who wrote me the lovely and so very funny Home for the Twelfth Night in the merrypirates fic exchange;

savepurness, who wrote me the beautiful and angsty The Ghosts of Christmases Past in the 3fan_holiday fic exchange;

luvvycat who is writing The Christmas Stranger - Part One, Part Two, and Part Three, with at least one more to go, maybe two! Wheee! What fun!

And celandineb wrote me two great drabbles for Christmas, Good News (W/E, on my Christmas card!), and The Geese Are Getting Fat (W/E/J, Christmas in England, per my request).

artaxastra has written the hilarious New Years Day in the Green Room, featuring Jack Sparrow and SGA's John Sheppard. "Bloody bloody bloody Marys."

viva_gloria has written new impofperversity fic, Junctus Sordidissimus: or, The Virtues of Literacy, and it's perfect funny and edgy and, yes, heartwarming in that unique Impverse way. (R - Slash)

torn_eledhwen received a wonderful Blackadder fic for Yuletide, Somewhat Akin to a Limpet by Skew, and the characterizations are perfect.

Over at Archive of Our Own, zarahemla posted a PotC fic she wrote back in July '03, right after CotBP came out, black eyes, "In which Jack Sparrow is the Han Solo of the Caribbean. With makeup." - great Jack Sparrow action here, very entertaining!

And last (for now) but definitely not least, some weeks ago p0wdermonkey finished her Nuts Out of the Locker series with a two part ending that actually makes sense of the final bits of AWE. Amazing and hilarious, and I, for one, am so grateful to her. (NC-17 - Slash)

Thanks to your deft and hilarious interpretation, I can now watch the end of AWE without wincing much. I am hoping to reread the whole thing soon, though (as with viva_gloria and tessabeth) I have a very hard time isolating lines I love, there are so many.

Thanks again--it's especially great to get new recs for old fics because I wasn't around in the golden age of Pirates. (OK, I was around, just not around Pirates fandom. I'm slow.)

I wasn't around for the squeeful first six months, either -- had no idea fandom existed as it does on the internet, or that people besides me wrote fanfic, lol! It was quite a revelation.

(((hugs))) Thank you so much for reccing my Secret Santa fic "The Christmas Stranger"! I hope the last few parts live up to expectations! (Hopefully, I'll be posting Part 4 either tonight or tomorrow, and I think there'll be only one last chapter after that).

Since it's un-betaed, I hope you're not finding too much "wrong" with the story! (I did find one typo I made in Part 3, that I edited and cleaned up yesterday. Oops!) ;-)
