If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

This is more than a single sentence, but [livejournal.com profile] ladymora should like it...

...“You’ve been good, then? Behaved yourself an’ all?”

“Oh, aye!” Tom assured his father, gravely. “Except for the cat. And the pies.”

“The cat and the pies!” exclaimed Jack, frowning.

“And therein lies a tale, eh, young Tom?” said Gibbs coming up beside them, grinning.

“Aye, it does that!” Tom grinned back. Then he looked at his father again, and pasted a sober look on, though his brown eyes twinkled in an amazingly familiar way. “’Twas only Duchess, the parti-colored one. I tied goose quills to ‘er tail, an’ first she chased ‘em ‘round an’ ‘round, and then she got scared and ran up a tree!”

In other news, I was considerably depressed by the outcome of the election, along with everyone else around here, though I am so cynical about politics it didn't really surprise me. The world thinks we're idiots.

Life does go on. At least we're having beautiful weather. Fall color and the hills continue to get greener. Have lots to do at work, and the previously quoted NaNoWriMo fic proceeds apace, with lines and plot elements occurring at odd moments. I just need to write it all down! This Paid Employment really cuts into my writing time... *G*

Hugs to all!

Harry and the Pirate IV?!

dead faint

I missed your glorious fic!

Every time NaNoWriMo comes along, I forget. This year's a good thing-between writer's block and obligatory(and consequently bad) writing... I'm stretched pretty thin. But it always seems like so much fun! Good luck with it :D

Thanks for the good luck wishes! Hope you have revived from your dead faint. Yes, indeed, I am writing another long Harry & the Pirate story, and attempting to do it for NaNoWriMo so I'll be done with it by December. That's the plan, anyway. Whether I succeed in this ambition is something else entirely. But I'll give it a shot.

So sorry to hear about the writer's block. I hope it heals itself soon. I was going to say I still owe you feedback for the last chapter of The Trouble, but I just read it and submitted a short review. Very good, actually--not sure where you get off talking about "bad writing". ;)

I owe you feedback for your last bit of the Norrie storyline, however. But must write myself, now: NaNoWriMo calls.

It's National Novel Writing Month, and it's a charity organization. You're supposed to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. Don't worry: I never heard of it a month ago either. ;)

Gaahh!! Lord o'mercy! 50,000 WORDS!!!

Well, now that I'm informed I can giggle at having that kind of time. Holy smokes! Tha'd be great.

Would love to see what you write, however. I'm certain it'd be just awesome.

Ta!

That's about 90 pages. Harry 1 was 47,000, and Norrington's Choice was 52,000. If you write about 1700 words every day, you got it made. Unfortunately, I'm way behind on word count.
