A sequel to Encomium, this one is 130 unbetaed (but hopefully acceptable) words for the current drabble challenge prompt, 'Disgust'.
pearlseed, I promise I'm working on your Jack/Harry birthday fic! And
florencia7, thank you so much for the virtual picnic basket! Tall ship fans, check out this display of beautiful sterns at Dark Roasted Blend (with references to PotC!), and the one on figureheads, too! And lastly, everyone should go read
honorat's latest chapter of Crossing the Bar -- it's great!!
And now, without further ado...
~ Disgust in the Afternoon ~
It is much easier to extinguish a first desire than to satisfy all of those that follow it.
— La Rochefoucauld
Disgusting.
He'd known what would come to him on surrendering to her wiles. Though it hadn't felt like surrender. More like a heady mix of revenge and (God help him) blessing. And now, of course, he's well and truly caught, like a fish on a line. Like some callow and helplessly priapic boy.
He'd known what she was.
But then she knew him as well.
She's stirring now, beauty's self, gold hair streaming over his shabby pillows.
(New linens at the first opportunity. Finest to be had.)
The glint of sleepy eyes; a rueful smile to match his own. She raises her arms, beckoning.
He strips again, and comes to her, and disgust suddenly seems sacrilege. The word's treasure, pure and simple, silver and gold.
He'd known it all along.

I don't even know what went on with them, but wowiezowiebatman! Hot!
"But then she knew him as well." She was learning Fast, weren't she?
"He strips again," Let's see, I like this line becos it's telling me lots about lots and that he would get dressed to escape and then blow it. Said already, hot damn!

Date: 2011-07-10 03:53 pm (UTC)Comparing the two POV's of these pieces, it's funny that each of them feels that, in a way, they've surrendered, ceded control to the other. (You know what they say: this thing's bigger than the both of them! I guess, in their case, it's true!) ;-) Also, the shared perception by both that this "encounter" carries an element of Jack exacting his revenge on Elizabeth for her past misdeeds.
The glint of sleepy eyes; a rueful smile to match his own.
Oh, yes ... she knows she's caught as well! :-)

Oh, yes, he has known, hasn't he? He said as much to Will, all those years ago in the treasure caves of Isla de Muerta! Known who--and what--she was, from practically their very first meeting. Known her better, perhaps, than her own doting father, or starry-eyed, lovestruck Will.
And she'd had Jack's number, from the very first, too... ;-)
(Oh ... and everyone else's favourite lines? Ditto, in spades, for me, as well!) ;-D
A perfect pairing (both J/E, and these two "mated" drabbles)! Most excellent, and thoroughly wonderful! :-)
