A Wishkiss!

dwgmIt's about 75 degrees and sunny out. I finally
started doing the Christmas decorations--will get them done by tonight.

wishkisses, I wrote the following J/A "Kiss" for gryphons_lair -- and for jackfan2, who will like it too, I think. ;)[Unknown site tag]
Under the Mistletoe
Ana’d drawn the short straw, again! – and this on
Christmas, when she truly would have enjoyed celebrating with her shipmates.
And with Jack. Especially Jack. She had to admit that, if there was any honesty
in her.
He hadn’t pushed her, after that one night. He knew she
needed time. Not that he didn’t indulge in enough playful flirting to let her
know he was still interested: “Oh, excuse me, Ana!”, brushing close against her
in the companionway, when there was plenty of room for both of them. Or that
look…that Sparrow-Look, out of those eyes of his, just short of surreptitious,
and then the “innocent” smile. The devil. She could not help chuckling.
She wasn’t much worried about the Tortuga strumpets having
their way with him, this time. Well, maybe a bit. But then, right before the
end of her watch, she saw a big bunch of the crew staggering onto the dock and
piling into the Pearl’s longboats, including Jack himself, and she
smiled with a whole heart to see them so merry.
Jack was singing, again, as he gained the deck, and grabbed her, and
swung her around with drunken grace. She gave a laugh of surprised delight, her
grin matching his.
“Ana, love! Merry Christmas!” he exclaimed, coming to a
swaying stop.
“And to you, Captain!” she returned, then pasted a frown on
her face and fingered a new object tied in his dark mane. “But what’s this,
eh?”
He remembered, immediately. “Oh, that!” His smile turned a
little sheepish. “Just some mistletoe. Paddy had it brought from England, to
decorate the Bride. Holly, too, and he made us eggnog—great stuff!”
“And to decorate you, too, I see,” said Ana, feigning
disapproval.
Gibbs grinned, and said, suggestively, “Naw! Giselle did
that, didn’t she Jack?”
Jack shot a quick, daggerish look at his First, and then
favored Ana with more sheepishness. “She was just playin’—couldn’t resist,
really.”
“Oh, couldn’t she?” Ana said, chin tilted. And then she
grabbed Jack’s coat with one hand, slipped a persuasive arm about his neck, and
pulled him to her for a thorough kiss. Her head swam with the scent and taste
and feel of him, and with the catcalls and laughter of the crew, and then, when
she let him go, with the look on Jack’s face. She said, saucily, “Seems like I
couldn’t either! ‘Night, Captain,” and flounced away.
But as she walked across the deck, he found his voice: “Uh, g’night, lads. You’ll excuse me…been a
long night, an’ I’m fer bed.”
You are that, my lad, she thought, and dimpled at the sound
of bootsteps following her.

Date: 2004-12-21 08:54 pm (UTC)Reading it, I sighed, I drooled, I grinned at the picture in my head of Jack's face after Ana finished that kiss and turned to saunter off Hmm.. is it in Ana to 'saunter'?.. hehehe.. Yea.. I think so! She's female, even though a pirate, she's still got it where it counts.
Thank you thank you thank you from the top, bottom, middle and everywhere in between of my heart. You've no idea how wonderful this was to me. I read it on a sneak peek at the office, but you know, couldn't reply. Busy? Sure, but it was more like gobsmacked that you'd written this thinking of me. I truly thank you. *sighs*.. Thank you just isn't enough.
