I finally managed to come up with something for this week's drabble challenge at Black Pearl Sails--

But You Have Heard Of Me

Fleeting beauty has its uses,
Sun-kissed skin, and smiling lips;
And one’s effects are well enough:
Sharp-edged swords, and sable ships.
But history craves a deeper theme:
Tales of courage, sly delights,
A heart comprised of black and gold,
As true as starry summer nights.

Hey, nice stuff! I sure wish I had a mind for rhyming. I can only spout poetry when I'm wasted, and usually it's someone else's poetry, no mine!
