Went with
ladymora,
shockwavesix, and
eliensign to see Pirates of Penzance at the T.O. Civic Arts Plaza. Mind you,
ladymora and I have probably listened to that soundtrack at least fifty or sixty times, and seen the movie a few too, and we were just hoping against hope not to be disappointed. Well, the production absolutely blew us out of the water! It was so good we went out at intermission and bought ten more tickets for next Friday night! The cast is fantastic: wonderful voices, great dancing, brilliant comedy, energetic throughout. The Pirate King is dramatically handsome and hilariously funny--everything he should be! Costumes & sets are wonderful. A truly memorable production. It's only there a week (7/24 is the closing performance), so hurry and see it if you live anywhere near the Thousand Oaks, California area. Superb.

But it came out pretty much the way I planned--kind of a humorous romance/adventure, I think. I was able to incorporate all the elements I'd planned, too--everything but the kitchen sink!
Did you ever post The Spittin' Image on Live Journal? I've been thinking of posting my Harry & the Pirate stories to my journal, if only for archival purposes (although more feedback would be nice...), but maybe to
Hard to believe only ONE of your readers noticed the quotes--I almost know the play by heart, and my daughter,
