And then there's this article about the beautiful place JD and his family are occupying during filming -- nice house!!

Lovely! Both the pics from the set and of the house ~ I'm sure that Johnny and family find Hawaii a wonderful location, very much like France in that locals don't generally make a big deal over celebs in the area. Island life is apparently easy, no matter who you are!

Thanks for the updates! *bounce*

Looks like there may be some hope for this one, eh?

I *LOVE* the very clear shift in body-language as Johnny becomes Jack. Damn, he's brilliant.

My, a scene like this looks entirely different when you can see the director giving everyone his input. It's certainly an interesting glimpse at how movie-making is done.

And the_stowaway is right about Depp's amazing body language. The world should be very glad his musical career didn't pan out!

is Cap'n jack going to be dancing??? It sure looks like he's giving a little twirl around the dance floor, er, I mean, deck.

Oh, can't wait for this!

Oooh! VERY interesting pics! :-)

For all that I'm a staunch Sparrabether, I'm intrigued by the prospect of Jack actually having a love interest of his own, and being able to bring his sexy, flirtatious and seductive side into play in wooing a lady. We got brief glimpses of that in the first PotC trilogy in his (sadly, limited) interactions with Elizabeth, but for all that Captain Jack Sparrow is this amazingly sexy and romantic fantasy character, this being with a (presumably) long, extensive, and checkered sexual past, he really hasn't gotten a lot of romantic action in the PotC movies so far (even overlooking the fact that they ARE Disney films). Outside of some flirting with Elizabeth, hanging onto a couple of Tortuga doxies, some veiled allusions to he and Tia Dalma's past relationship, and of course the big "kiss of betrayal" in DMC, we haven't truly seen Jack in the role of lover.

Since the first PotC trilogy was pretty much Will and Elizabeth's story, Jack was practically relegated to a secondary (though essential) supporting character (for all that JD stole every scene he was in). ;-) I, for one, am looking forward to a PotC that centres around Jack, where he is the focus of the film and his own story is front and centre!

And, yes, I totally agree with the previous comments about JD's body language when he segues into Jack! JD is one of those amazingly talented and adept actors who can "disappear" into a role. He totally BECOMES Captain Jack Sparrow, and that's a unique quality that only the very greatest actors share: to make a character a real living, breathing person to an audience, and not just an actor in a costume playing a role.

[Exit Squeeing Fangirl mode!] ;-)

Talking about sharing ... thanks, GM, for keeping us in the pipeline on all the most interesting PotC4 news and pics! I'm truly, absolutely giddy knowing that, at this very moment, somewhere in this world, "Captain Jack Sparrow" is again walking, talking, alive and well (as it were) and off having new adventures! :-)

Fun pictures; I'm glad there is a new director, for change if nothing else. T&T still writing it, correct?

Any bets on someone saying "why is the rum gone?" during that scene?

Ahhhh! The chemistry just oozes, doesn't it? I was never a Sparrabether, and have my own biases, but it is grand to see a little of that "charm" being put into action.

The blood pressure and the pulse just keeps rising.

Again, many, many thanks for sharing the wealth, Geekmama!

These are marvelous; the chance to see some behind-the-scenes moments AND get to see a very good actor segue into his character--yep, even the body language changes and Jack's moves are so unique. It will be fun to see Jack getting to be flirtatious, even half serious about it.

And the Hawaiian mansion is so beautiful! Also looks like a real oasis form all the chaos; a great place for him to unwind with his family.

*SQUEEEEE OMG*
Jack's dancing! On the deck of the ship!! Now all we need is nighttime and drums and lantern light... ;) Isn't it time to go see this movie yet?

It looks like it will be an interesting scene (and relationship). I'm just so biased towards sparrabeth, that whoever Penelope's character is, I'm afraid I'll be predisposed to hating her. Does anyone else have this problem?......do we expect Jack to be a good dancer or...a "Jack" type of dancer?

It's so interesting that I have no desire to see these pictures and have not looked at them even while scrolling down to reply to this. J/E is still my religion. It's kinda like once a Catholic, always a Catholic...or something...

I think I feel a squee. Yes, yes, I do think that is squee I feel. :-)

Thanks so much for posting these! It's especially fun to see how, in the first pic, Johnny is relaxed and looks ... like himself. But in subsequent frames, he's totally CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow, even though he's in street clothes. What a transformation! :-)

Hoping and hoping that this film will be the good stuff ...
